Hello all, My name is Yogev, (25/M/Israel). I was invited here by Sid, I don't know which name he's using now I've registered a few week ago, but I don't have much time to play, so just now I'm sitting here to start move some stuff. First of all, I love the idea of the game. I think it's interesting and I look forward to see where it will lead. The beginning here isn't too easy. I didn't know what I was supposed to do. Even now I'm not too sure, but since it's an alpha version I don't mind just to try things and see what's happening First suggestion I'd like to make is to connect the forums with the game. Roleplay and "gameing" will go much better when you don't need to go from site A to site B. Second suggestion is more info about the world. One day, suddenly, I got a gazilion more characters. What am I to do with them? Who are they? Why did they ended up in my estate? I got two new chars who are prisoners at other estates. Should I fight to free them? Should I leave them to rot? I can't make a good decision (RP-wise) without knowing why they are under my rule now... Those are all the suggestion I have for now, but I have 3 more questions: 1) Why do I pay to slaves? 2) How do I stop recruiting soldiers/ freemen? 3) How can I RSVP to the "Tournament at Estate Nou Girona in Catyluca on Taura" event? I hope to be more active in the future. ~Yogev

Oh, and another question - I have a char over a ship, orbiting a planet which I don't have an estate over. The ship is a courier and it states " May trade from orbit", but when I isuue a buy order, I get "Captain Daria Leen failed to carry out Buy {Item: Rare Elements, Quantity: 1187, Max Price: 1187} ". (There are 1187 Rare Elements in the market, with avg price of £6.71, so I thought I should get about 175 or so...

Welcome to the game!
Currently, when a house dissolves (either when a player leaves, or a House loses its estates) surviving characters will look for a new House (with less than 20 characters) to take them on.
They are your characters to order around as you like, but they should be outside your line of succession....and many dissolved houses now have characters that are spread across (player run) Houses, so you will probably want to avoid ever transferring lands to them.
The Prisoners - well definitely the one who is my Prisoner - are likely both former Heads of Houses that have lost their Estates. The one at my House is the former Earl of Catyluca who stands accused of heresy, the murder of my Baron's eldest daughter (...well okay she was snooping around), and profiteering at the expense of Tauras citizens.
For RP purposes I would like to test an execution....but the transferring to another House causes an issue there as it would give you a casus beli and cause an Honour loss for me.
Regarding Slaves....errr good question! I guess I view them as somewhere between the most lowly peasant and "Indentured Servants", where they are still paid a wage, but they are are not freemen until they have paid their debts. Slaves are generated when they have been unable to pay their taxes. "Serfs" may be a better term
I guess you don't have to pay them....but they do have demands (need to buy food and drink as well as cloth/fur in the winter) which - if they cannot afford - will cause them to have lower morale and impact your production.
To stop recruiting you can either demolish your barracks and trade hall (you may want to check that last one), or don't have a Tribune (who needs to be present for those buildings to work).
With regards to the tournament, you 'merely' need to turn up (though you would need to arrive the chronum before the tournament as they are run before orders are issued for the day)
I say 'merely' because the its a bit of a journey.
That said, you still need to travel to the estate, which from Capricia to Taura will probably need several moves between planets. To do so Board, a ship you wish to make the journey in (if your actively trading the Corvette will suffice), then Move to World (you'd probably need to initially move to one of Gemonia, Scorpia, Aquarium or ideally Centraum and hope you can reach Taura from there....but it may actually take three movements).
Once in Taura orbit you would need to issue the Travel to Estate order....but as noted above, you'd need to be at the Estate by the close of the 6th Chronum.
With regards to your ship, there are several types of 'cargo' Mission sections; Cargo Bay: can carry cargo such as trade goods and finished goods (ie Habitation Modules) Ore Bay: for transporting ores only (Metals, Carbonite, Fissiles and Rare Elements) Quarters: for transporting workers Bunks: for transporting troops
Characters sit in the Bridge away from the riff raff
Your Courier will be equipped with Cargo Bays: so your order is failing because Rare Elements need Ore Bays.
Also note that Max Price is the maximum price you will pay, so in your example you would be willing to pay upto 1187 per Rare Element. Though note you purchase at the sell price and start from the lowest value up, so if there are 200 set as 1, 200 set at 5, 786 set at 1187 and 1 set at 1188 you would buy up all but the most expensive unit (as it is over your 1187 maximum price) [you'd probably be bankrupted though!]

Well, so 1) idea - when a char want to join a new house it needs to ask from the head of the house. 2) suggestion - reasoning why orders failed. 3) question - so how could I bring ores to my estate? In a system that have very few ships, this seems like a lot of trouble!

The wiki states that "ships fitted with cargo bays can hold 1500 mass of everything but lifeforms and ammo". I think that ore counts as "everything but lifeforms and ammo"...
